Hi, I’m John
As a practitioner of existential therapy, I center on your unique individual experience—rather than only your symptoms. I believe through our capacity to find freedom, make choices, take responsibility, be authentic, and discover meaning, people can develop their potential and reduce suffering.
Through honest communication with others and oneself, you can discover your identity, become comfortable exploring your biography, and pursue your values to live more authentically. Together, we will develop thinking and behavior strategies to help you manage difficult experiences while staying grounded in the present.
In working with couples, I utilize Emotionally Focused Therapy and Attachment-Based insights to build self-understanding, bring couples closer together, and deconstruct unproductive patterns of connecting.
I live and work in Washington, DC, and have been practicing as a therapist for 15 years.
I am licensed in MD, VA, and DC.
